Don't Breathe
When you boil this down, it’s a pretty conventional horror
movie. College kids wander into a place they’re not supposed to be and suffer
the consequences. There’s excellent cause and effect here, and a great use of
setting and space. But like all movies in this genre, the characters lack basic
common sense, and that can be frustrating. Jane Levy carries this – she’s
always been good. And the pace and short running time keeps you engaged. So it’s
slightly better than the average version of this type of thing. It’s a hit. I’m
happy for Ghost House. But reinvent the wheel? They did not.
